Situated in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park covers a huge area of 450 sq. kms with a core area of 105 sq. km. The park gains its name from the old Bandhavgarh Fort which is located right at the center of the forest. A safari favorite, the Bandhavgarh National Park includes around twenty water streams and a number of lakes. You will also find several man-made caves with inscriptions of ancient times. The Fort contains great number of carvings as well. Before being converted into a National Park, Bandhavgarh was a favorite hunting ground for the Royal family. (more…)
